Do I pay anything upfront?
No. Under both the PPA and the Lease, Three Eight Six covers the full cost of the system — design, equipment, installation, permits and grid connection. You pay only for the electricity produced, or a fixed monthly lease, and either figure is below what you pay the utility today.
How much will I save?
It depends on your roof size, your consumption pattern and your current tariff, so we do not publish a single percentage. What we can commit to is the shape of it: the rate you pay us is agreed in the contract and sits below your grid tariff from the first invoice, and it stays fixed while utility tariffs move. We will give you a year-by-year projection against your own bills before you sign anything.
Is there any cost if I decide not to proceed?
None. The site assessment and the proposal are free and carry no obligation. If the numbers do not work for you, that is the end of it.
What happens at the end of the contract?
Under a Lease, the system transfers to you at no cost and every unit it produces after that is free. Under a PPA, the options are to extend the agreement, arrange transfer of the system, or have us remove it and restore the roof — all set out in the contract before you sign, not negotiated at the end.
What if I move premises or sell the building?
The agreement is tied to the site, so it can be transferred to the incoming owner or occupier, who inherits electricity below the grid rate. If that is not possible, the contract sets out a defined buy-out. Tell us early and we will work through it with you.
Who owns the system during the term?
Three Eight Six owns it, and the asset sits on our balance sheet rather than yours. That is what removes the capital decision — you are buying power, not equipment.
Who handles maintenance?
We do, for the entire term and at our cost: monitoring, cleaning, inverter servicing, repairs, insurance and warranty claims. Your facilities team has nothing new to manage. Because we are paid on what the plant generates, keeping it running is our problem, not yours.
What if the panels don't perform?
Under a PPA you are billed on metered output, so if the system underproduces, you simply pay less — the shortfall is our loss, not your risk. Every plant is monitored remotely and output is reported to you, so the figure on the invoice can always be traced back to the meter.
Will it damage my roof, or affect the warranty?
No system goes up until a qualified structural engineer certifies the roof can carry it, and the report is shared with you. Mounting methods are chosen to suit your roof type, and where a roof warranty is in place we work with the original supplier so it stays intact.
